About the European Society of Sonochemistry
The European Society of Sonochemistry (ESS) was born from a growing international interest in the effects of ultrasound on chemical reactions in the 1980s. Following pioneering symposia and research collaborations, the society was formally established in 1990, fostering a vibrant scientific community dedicated to advancing sonochemistry. Since then, ESS has played a key role in promoting research, organizing conferences, and supporting young scientists through travel grants and summer schools. With a strong commitment to innovation, ESS continues to expand its scope, embracing applications in green chemistry, medicine, food processing, and environmental protection.
